Andrea
Caraballo Marrero has been the coordinator of CASA (translated from
Spanish as the Collective of Help, Solidarity and Action) since April of
2009 in Oaxaca, Mexico.
With CASA she has worked with more than 30 organizations, collectives
and local communities both in and around the city/region of Oaxaca.
Andrea
has participated in the organization and implementation of both
theoretical and practical workshops with those working in feminist
collectives, on territorial defense,
and appropriate technology—among other topics. She has developed
workshops and orientations for activists from various countries who come
to Oaxaca to volunteer and learn in a variety of arenas.
Andrea has also facilitated groups of university student delegation in various opportunities. Since 2009 she has received students in medicine to facilitate an experience with local workshops and lectures about migration and traditional/indigenous medicine. The delegations consist of approximately 15 to 20 students and the groups come to Oaxaca twice a year. Until now, Andrea has received 8 different groups with this organization. She has also received and facilitated for groups of CUNY student delegations, focusing on human rigths.
She
has used writing and art as a form of public statement and for
community information. Andrea has published articles in Uruguay, Mexico,
the USA, Ecuador and Germany. She
also uses art (photography, video and drawing) as a form of expression,
information and social protest.

Actualmente es coordinadora de C.A.S.A. (Colectivos de Apoyo Solidaridad y Acción) desde abril del 2009 en Oaxaca, México.
Con
CASA ha trabajado con más de 30 organizaciones, colectivos y/o
comunidades locales tanto de la ciudad de Oaxaca como de comunidades de
diferentes regiones
del estado.
Ha
participado en la realización y/u organización de numerosos talleres
teóricos y prácticos con colectivos feministas, de defensa del
territorio y tecnologías
apropiadas entre otros.
Ha
desarrollado talleres y orientación a activistas provenientes de varios
países que han llegado a realizar trabajo voluntario a Oaxaca en
diferentes áreas.
También
ha facilitado grupos de delegaciones de estudiantes universitarios en
varias oportunidades. Ha recibido desde el año 2009 a estudiantes de
medicina para facilitar a través de
organizaciones locales, charlas y talleres sobre migración y medicina
tradicional indígena. Las delegaciones son de
aproximadamente 15-20 estudiantes y las visitas de grupos se realizan
dos veces al año. Hasta la fecha ha recibido a 8 grupos de esa
organización.
También ha recibido y facilitado a grupos de delegaciones de estudiantes de leyes provenientes de CUNY (New York) en dos oportunidades.
